When we decide, we create space for change to occur. Change always happens anyway, but when we decide, we give it the direction that we want. Usually, when we want to do something, we spend a lot of time thinking about it. This puts pressure on us, and keeps us in a confused state. Therefore, we must learn how to make decisions. As soon as we decide, the pressure falls away and we win time. Decision has the power to help us separate the important things from the unimportant things. It generates energy and brings our daily routine on track. Decision helps us to be in the here and now. When we decide, we have less thought about the past and we don’t lose ourselves in thoughts about the future. We must be in the present moment if we want to decide. And in order to be in the present moment, we need to be aware. We must shift our focus from the wish to do something to the awareness of the act of doing it. For this, we need to learn how to train our awareness. One way to do this is to stay in silence. From the place of silence, decisions become clear. In this teaching, Tulku Lobsang will share methods from the wisdom of Buddhist Psychology. In addition to teaching about the power of decision, he will guide us in training the mind through different states of development and show us how to abide in stillness. We will learn the common obstacles that we may encounter and the antidotes to overcome them. The more we know about the development of our mind, the more motivated we are to connect with our true nature and live in alignment with our purpose.
