- PLEASE NOTE: His Holiness is of advanced age and his health is no longer robust. Yet, out of his boundless kindness and compassion, he has graciously agreed to Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche’s request to bestow these empowerments upon Rinpoche’s students. His Holiness will certainly confer the actual empowerments. However, we kindly ask for your understanding that, should his physical condition require rest, Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche will step in to lead parts of the event sessions.
- IMPORTANT: If you want to receive the empowerments, you must receive them live! The Vajravarahi empowerment will take place on Saturday and the Chakrasamvara empowerment will take place on Sunday. However, we cannot say in advance at what time exactly.
- Participants will get access to the video recordings of all sessions through their user account on our website.

PREPARING FOR THE EMPOWERMENTS:
During the empowerments we will use various symbolic items and substances.
Please prepare the following things in advance:
- A small bowl filled with water and a little saffron (for the cleansing ritual)
- A small bowl filled with wine (or other alcohol)
- A small bowl filled with uncooked rice (for the mandala offering)
- A red blindfold to cover your eyes (for example a red scarf or a piece of red cloth or a red gift ribbon that you can tie around your head in order to cover your eyes)
- A fresh flower
- Two pinches of red colored cosmetic powder
IMPORTANT: You do NOT need these items in order to receive empowerment. They are merely supports. Therefore, if you do not have these items, the most important thing is that you do not worry. Just focus on the Vajra Master and imagine that you have everything that is described.

- Can I receive empowerment if I cannot attend live?
No, if you want to receive the empowerments, you must receive them live.
- What if I do not have all the items and substances that are used during the empowerments?
You do NOT need the described things in order to receive empowerment. They are merely support. Therefore, if you do not have these items, the most important thing is that you do not worry. Just focus on the Vajra Master and imagine that you have everything that is described.
- Do I have to take any commitments (samayas)?
You can take these empowerments as a blessing without commitment, which means you take empowerment only for the blessing and in order to make a connection. Seeds are planted in the field of our consciousness, and these seeds will slowly grow.
- I do not engage in any practices that require Vajravarahi or Chakrasamvara empowerment. Does it still make sense for me to attend these empowerments?
Receiving Vajravarahi and Chakrasamvara empowerment is said to bring tremendous blessings to this lifetime and thereafter. Therefore, it is beneficial to attend these empowerments to receive the wonderful blessings.
- My root guru is neither His Holiness Kyapgon Ngawang Tenzin Rinpoche nor Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche. Is this a reason for not attending these empowerments?
In Tibetan Buddhism it is very common to receive teachings and empowerments from different masters. His Holiness Kyapgon Ngawang Tenzin Rinpoche is a very renowned Vajra Master and it is a very precious opportunity to receive empowerment by His Holiness.

We are deeply honored to announce a rare and precious opportunity: His Holiness Kyapgon Ngawang Tenzin Rinpoche will bestow the Empowerments of Vajravarahi and Chakrasamvara, two of the most profound and transformative Yidam practices in the Anuttarayoga Tantra of Vajrayana Buddhism.
Both Vajravarahi (Dorje Phagmo) and Chakrasamvara (Heruka) are central deities in the Highest Yoga Tantra, representing the union of great bliss and emptiness—the very essence of the enlightened state. Vajravarahi embodies the fierce wisdom that cuts through ego-clinging, while Chakrasamvara symbolizes the dynamic union of compassion and wisdom beyond duality. Receiving their blessings opens the path to inner transformation at the deepest level.
Why Receive These Empowerments?
This unique event offers the combined empowerments of both Vajravarahi and Chakrasamvara, which traditionally belong together as consort deities. To receive them together is especially powerful, as it supports a more complete realization of the path. This union is at the heart of the Tummo–Inner Fire practice and of the Six Yogas of Naropa, leading to the rapid transformation of body and mind.
For Those Who Previously Received the Vajravarahi Empowerment:
If you have received Vajravarahi empowerment before—whether from His Holiness or another master—it is highly beneficial to receive it again, especially in union with Chakrasamvara. Each empowerment strengthens the connection with the deity and reawakens the blessings of the practice. Furthermore, the transmission from a realized master like His Holiness brings new depth, clarity, and energy to your path.
For Students of Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche Who Have Received the Tummo Empowerment:
For those who have received Tummo Empowerment from Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche, this is a highly meaningful continuation. The practice of Tummo has its deep roots in the Vajravarahi and Chakrasamvara Tantra. Receiving these empowerments enhances the energetic connection with the Yidams who embody the Tummo principle itself. It empowers your Tummo practice with a stronger tantric foundation and deepens your inner fire practice—especially at the subtle body level.
Whether you are reconnecting with Vajravarahi, complementing your Tummo path, or receiving these empowerments for the first time—this is a unique gateway into the sacred lineage of profound transformation.
No prerequisites are required for attending, but please participate with sincere motivation and respect.
ABOUT HIS HOLINESS KYAPGON NGAWANG TENZIN RINPOCHE
His Holiness is the reincarnation of the great Yogi Rigzin Jinpa Gyaltsen — the holder of the secret doctrines. Rinpoche had been the master of Philosophy and Logic of the Punakha Monastic Body since he was forty-five years old. For 10 years, His Holiness also held the highly esteemed position of Dorji Lopon, or “Vajra Master”, heading the Vajracarya division of the Central Monastic Body. Later Rinpoche chose to live a life of simple renunciation in a small hut to meditate and practice in seclusion.
As a result of unwavering practice, His Holiness’ level of understanding and experience have thrived and his insights and realizations have expanded immeasurably. Rinpoche has brought great benefit to the Bhutanese community and has given many masters and teachers direct instructions in empowerment, transmission and teaching of Mahamudra, the Six Doctrines of Naropa and Dzogchen.
