KATA OFFERING CEREMONY
During this teaching, Rinpoche will offer a short blessing ceremony. Traditionally, you can make a kata (blessing scarf) offering where you approach Rinpoche with a kata folded in half and held in your prayer mudra. Rinpoche will then put the kata over your head as a blessing. If you wish, you can also offer a monetary donation. Put any money offering in an envelope and hand it over during the offering ceremony.
The best gift you can offer to your teacher is your personal inner practice and the ceremony just represents an outer form of offering.
If you wish, you can either bring your own kata or purchase a kata at the retreat. Traditional donation envelopes will be available at the bookstand. |

Tog Chöd, the wisdom sword, is based on a famous Tibetan meditation technique and is very much connected with Yamantaka.
This practice is a combination of powerful physical exercises, which are practiced with a wooden sword. The goal of the exercises is to reduce fear and expectation, to dissolve mental imprints and overcome negative emotions.
Tog Chöd is a powerful technique for overcoming the state of thinking und for remaining in a quiet state of mind. Based on the Yaman dance, the famous Tibetan meditation technique, Tulku Lobsang developed this powerful technique of Tog Chöd.
Tog Chöd, the wisdom sword, is a combination of body postures, movements and visualizations. This meditation practice can help us reduce fear and expectation, dissolve mental imprints and overcome negative emotions.
By practicing Tog Chöd we learn to cut our thoughts. Thanks to this we can cut expectations as well as concepts of truth and fear. This is important for being able to live in the present moment – in the here and now – instead of wandering with our thoughts into the past or the future.
