KATA OFFERING CEREMONY
During this teaching, Rinpoche will offer a short blessing ceremony. Traditionally, you can make a kata (blessing scarf) offering where you approach Rinpoche with a kata folded in half and held in your prayer mudra. Rinpoche will then put the kata over your head as a blessing. If you wish, you can also offer a monetary donation. Put any money offering in an envelope and hand it over during the offering ceremony.
The best gift you can offer to your teacher is your personal inner practice and the ceremony just represents an outer form of offering.
If you wish, you can either bring your own kata or purchase a kata at the retreat. Traditional donation envelopes will be available at the bookstand. |

Lu Jong is an ancient Tibetan practice. The physical exercises were developed to activate the body's own self-healing powers on a physical level. On the mental level the exercises aid to overcome our negative emotions, such as anger and jealousy, to achieve emotional balance and increase our energy. On the energetic level Lu Jong can release blockages of the subtle body channels, thereby restoring and mobilizing a more natural flow of energies.
Being the reincarnation of Nyentse Lama, Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche learned Lu Jong from masters of different traditions at a very early stage. Rinpoche has collected these ancient Tibetan movements, modified and summarized them to "Lu Jong - Tibetan Healing Yoga". It is a program of physical exercises adapted to Western needs, allowing everyone to balance body and mind. Lu Jong is based on the knowledge of and insights gained through Tibetan medicine, which recognizes body and mind as one unity. Once the natural balance of the body is disrupted, the whole organism is affected. Diseases may result. Through the combination of position, movement and breath Lu Jong opens the channels in the body, releases blockages and mobilizes misdirected energy. Our mind becomes clear and calm. That's the reason why meditating is much easier for us after having practiced Lu Jong.
