From Salzburg/Linz take the A1 (highway) to “Knoten Steinhäusl”, then take the motorway A21 and pull out at the exit “Mayerling”. Then take main road B 210 heading in the direction Baden to Helenental. After 7km you will arrive at the hotel on your right hand side. Coming from the direction Vienna or Graz, take the motorway A2 until exit Baden, depart there, then you get to main road B210 where you head towards Helenental/Westautobahn. After approx. 6km after leaving Baden behind you, you will find the hotel on your left hand side. Coming from the airport, you take the motorway A4 and pull out at the exit S1. Then head towards the direction Linz and take the A21 until the exit Heiligenkreuz. Then take the main road B210 directly to Helenental, heading towards Baden. After 6km you will find the hotel on the right hand side. (Approx. 50 minutes) Arrival by train: Train station “Baden bei Wien”. For detailed railway information and train connections see: www.oebb.at Arrival by bus: Monday to Friday, ÖBB busses with the number 306 run from Baden “Josefsplatz” in the direction of "Heiligenkreuz" to Krainerhütte. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel and is called “Helenental Krainerhütte”. Arrival by plane: Airport Wien Schwechat (33 km) transport links to Baden via Vienna by bus or train or directly by taxi. Kata Offering Ceremony: During this teaching, Rinpoche will offer a short blessing ceremony. Traditionally, you can make a kata (blessing scarf) offering where you approach Rinpoche with a kata folded in half and held in your prayer mudra. Rinpoche will then put the kata over your head as a blessing. If you wish to participate in this ceremony, please bring your own kata. There will also be katas available on location. Courage and compassion will transform our lives. We need to develop the courage to open our hearts and minds to the suffering inside and around us. And we need compassion for ourselves and for others. Self-care and self-compassion are the first steps in generating a firm and stable inner base from which we can then gradually develop more and more compassion also for others.

Compassion is by nature gentle and peaceful but at the same time also very powerful. It helps to remove all fears and insecurities. It gives us the courage to cope with any kind of obstacle we encounter and to no longer lose ourselves in negative emotions such as anger, attachment or jealousy.

In this Retreat, Rinpoche will share with us a series of guided meditations for the cultivation of the “Four Immeasurables”: loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. The practice of the Four Immeasurables opens our hearts step-by-step and cultivates a deep warmhearted feeling. During this weekend, we will also learn how to bring this experience into our daily lives through the practice of Tibetan Mind Training. If we develop a sincere and open heart, we will naturally feel more self-worth and self-confidence. This will change our world! Through the cultivation of compassion we will be more relaxed, we will overcome depression and loneliness. We will be healthier and have better relationships. It is the key to a happier world and a happier life!
