The root cause of disease is our negative emotions. The more we overcome our negative emotions, the more happiness we achieve, the more we activate our inner healing. But how do we make use of our innate healing energies? Through the power of our mind and thoughts. In our daily lives, we are constantly worried, anxious, and have unfulfilled expectations - and this has a direct impact on our body. Therefore, we need to learn how to create positive emotions, how to be more content, grateful and happy.

Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche will teach us simple methods from the rich wisdom of Tibetan medicine and the Tantrayana tradition that will help us develop our self-healing potential to achieve mental and physical health through the power of our mind and thoughts.

The practice of Tummo is the first one and therefore the foundation of the “Six Yogas of Naropa” - a comprehensive collection of advanced practices of Tibetan Tantrayana Buddhism intended to lead to Buddhahood in an accelerated manner.

Tummo is our wisdom fire. It is something we naturally have within our bodies. Through a combination of movements, breathing techniques and visualizations we generate the Tummo flame and spread it throughout the body. On a physical level the Tummo fire increases our self-healing powers. On an energetic level, it surges energy throughout our body. On the level of mind, Tummo is the source of love, joy, happiness and bliss.

Through the practice, the flame grows, starting from below the navel and rising higher and higher. This inner warmth softly penetrates each of the main chakras, spreading to all the branches and every pore of our body. Our chakras are secret doors through which we can access our bliss body (Sambhogakaya) and our clear light mind (Dharmakaya). Tummo is the key to open these secret doors. Entering through those doors means that we find our true home inside ourselves: we reach our innate Buddha nature - the perfect union of ultimate love and compassion.

This Retreat is the best opportunity for those who wish to begin their Tummo practice or even reconnect and deepen their fundamental practice to prepare for deeper practices like Tummo-Bliss or Tummo-Non Conceptional State of Mind.

In Tibetan Medicine the human body is seen as a composition of the five elements earth, fire, water, wind and space. It is important to understand the connections and interdependence of these five elements. When the elements are out of balance, then it is quite probable to suffer from a disease. Therefore the goal is to balance the five elements.

Those five elements can be found in nature as well . Every time of the day corresponds to one element. Knowing this, we can shape our daily life in a way where the elements support us in dealing with our tasks, instead of interfering.

Na Medicina Tibetana, o corpo humano é visto como uma composição dos cinco elementos: terra, fogo, água, vento e espaço. É importante compreender as conexões e interdependência destes cinco elementos. Quando os elementos estão desequilibrados, então é bem provável que sofram de uma doença. Portanto, o objetivo é, equilibrar os cinco elementos.

Tantrayana is one of the main vehicles, or paths, of Buddhism. It is a vehicle with powerful methods, using our bodies and our emotions to transform ourselves to a more and more open, clear and -ultimately- enlightened person. In Tantrayana we do not reject anything - we rather embrace whatever occurs in our lives and minds  as an opportunity to develop.

Therefore, when we have a problem or a negative emotion, we do not push it away; we see it as our teacher. We can use our negative emotions to come out of the negative emotion.

Desire, for example, is a powerful tool on the path to enlightenment and plays an important role in the Tantrayana teachings. We do not renounce desire. We rather expand our desire until it includes all things, also problems, negative emotions and difficult people. This is the way to become happier and healthier. This is the way to reduce stress and negativity and even to come out of desire. 

The Tantrayana lineage is the foundation for most of Tulku Lobsang RInpoche's teachings. In this lecture Rinpoche will give us an introduction to Tantra - and a small method how to transform our body, speech and mind.

Lu Jong - Tibetan Healing Yoga is a yoga in movement with origins in the Bön tradition and the Tantrayana path of Tibetan Buddhism. Lu Jong improves the health of the body, mind and spirit. This series of movements cultivates our self-healing capacity by releasing physical and mental blockages and harmonizing our flow of energy.

Rooted in Tibetan Medicine, the Lu Jong exercises restore the balance of the elements (space, earth, wind, fire and water) and humors—the vital substances—of the body and increase the flexibility of the spine. Through a rhythmic combination of position, movement and breath, this practice cultivates conditions conducive for meditation by calming and focusing the mind.

The Kum Nye Massage can regenerate and balance the whole energy system by opening chakras, or blocked points, on the gross, physical level. Various massage techniques are used to release blockages and spasms and to relax the muscles. This massage is especially beneficial for those who do hard physical labor, those who exercise their bodies through sports or other physical exercises, and those with a sedentary lifestyle who suffer from tension. Kum Nye makes us feel more balanced and increases strength and vitality.

Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche will teach the five element movements of Lu Jong and the five element massage of Kum Nye. The combination of these two practices is the balance of all the elements and thus the balance of body and mind.

Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche is responsible for opening the teachings of Lu Jong to the West, adapting the movements of the various lineages he studied to modern times and all types of people. To practice Lu Jong directly with this teacher of great compassion and charisma is a great opportunity.

Várias técnicas de massagem são usadas para liberar bloqueios, cãibras e relaxar os músculos. Esta massagem tem um benefício especial para quem pratica trabalhos físicos pesados, para quem treina o corpo através de esportes ou outras práticas de movimento corporal, bem como para quem tem um estilo de vida sedentário e sofre de tensão. Kum Nye nos faz sentir mais equilibrados e aumenta nossa força e a vitalidade.

Guru Yoga is the foundation of Tantrayana practice. Whatever our main practice, practicing Guru Yoga will empower us as we prepare our hearts and minds to receive the Dharma teachings in the purest possible way.

In Buddhism, the student-teacher relationship is very important. Although we all have Buddha nature, we are often unable to recognize it. Without this realization our practice does not advance and we do not progress on the spiritual path. We need a qualified teacher, a lama, a guru, a realized master to guide this realization within us.

Our teacher or spiritual guide is the one who sincerely leads us along spiritual paths, sharing with us the right instructions, the right help, and for whom we feel inclined to feel great love and devotion.

Our teacher introduces us to ourselves and this relationship on the Dharma path is essential! We can read a book, but a book cannot read us. A good teacher is able to read us, to put us in front of a mirror so that we can finally see ourselves.

The great fuel to develop this level of achievement in our practice is devotion. Cultivating devotion does not benefit the master. It is we students who benefit from devotion. For devotion connects us to a very strong and pure love. Cultivating pure love and devotion opens our hearts, reduces our ego, frees our mind from illusion and mistakes. Only in this way will we be able to truly receive a teaching.

If we attend a teaching while maintaining the ego of pride, we will not hear correctly and may even misinterpret the teaching. We can receive the greatest and purest of teachings, from the greatest of masters, but with the ego of pride present, it will not help us at all.

The practice of Guru Yoga helps us to cultivate pure motivation from deep devotion to the teaching and the teacher. It creates a foundation of devotion and connection with the master that helps us to receive the teachings in a deep and unequivocal way to empower and accelerate our practice, helps us to receive the benefit of the teachings and avoid negative karma.

In addition to all the benefits that the practitioner can receive, the practice of Guru Yoga also allows all the wisdom and realization of the Lama to merge in our mind.

It is not enough to carry the seed of Buddha nature within us, we must realize it. We need faith and devotion so that our Lama can directly impart his blessing to us and benefit us beyond what we are capable of doing for ourselves.

In this retreat we will have the great opportunity to connect with an authentic Tantrayana master. Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche will share with us the blessing of the master-student relationship.

O Guru Yoga é a base da prática Tantrayana. Qualquer que seja a nossa prática principal, praticar Guru Yoga nos trará mais poder, pois preparamos os nossos corações e mentes para receber os ensinamentos da Dharma da maneira mais pura possível.

No Budismo, a relação aluno-professor é muito importante. Embora todos tenhamos a natureza de Buda, geralmente não são somos capazes de reconhecê-la. Sem esta realização nossa prática não avança e não progredimos no caminho espiritual. Precisamos de um professor qualificado, de um lama, de um guru, um mestre realizado que oriente esta realização dentro de nós.  

Nosso professor ou guia espiritual é aquele(a) que nos conduz sinceramente pelos caminhos espirituais, compartilhando conosco as instruções corretas, a ajuda correta e por quem nos sentimos propensos a sentir grande amor e devoção.

Em verdade, nosso professor nos apresenta a nós mesmos e esta relação no caminho do Dharma é essencial! Podemos ler um livro, mas um livro não pode ler a nós. Um bom professor é capaz de nos ler, de nos colocar diante de um espelho para que possamos finalmente enxergar a nós mesmos.

O grande combustível para desenvolvermos este nível de realização em nossa prática é a Devoção. Cultivar a devoção não beneficia o mestre. Somo nós, alunos, que somos beneficiados pela devoção. Pois a devoção nos conecta a um amor muito forte e puro. Cultivar o amor puro e a devoção abre os nossos corações, reduz o nosso ego, libera nossa mente da ilusão e dos erros. Somente desta forma seremos capazes de receber verdadeiramente um ensinamento.

Se comparecermos a um ensinamento mantendo o ego do orgulho não vamos ouvir corretamente e podemos, ainda, interpretar o ensinamento de forma incorreta. Podemos receber o maior e mais puro dos ensinamentos, do maior dos mestres, mas com o ego do orgulho presente não irá nos servir de nada.

A prática do Guru Yoga nos ajuda a cultivar a motivação pura a partir da devoção profunda pelo ensinamento e pelo professor. Cria uma base de devoção e conexão com o mestre que nos ajuda a receber o ensinamento de forma profunda e sem equívocos para empoderar e acelerar a nossa prática, nos ajuda a receber o benefício dos ensinamentos e a evitar o carma negativo.

Para além de todos os benefícios que o praticante poderá receber a prática do Guru Yoga permite ainda que toda a sabedoria e realização do Lama se fundam na nossa mente.

Não é suficiente transportar a semente da natureza de Buda dentro de nós é preciso realizá-la. Precisamos de fé e devoção, para que o nosso Lama possa nos transmitir diretamente a sua bênção e nos beneficiar além do que somos capazes de fazer por nós mesmos.

Tog Chöd - The Wisdom Sword is a powerful method created by the Tibetan master Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche, based on the secret teachings of the Tantrayana tradition, especially the Yaman Dance, a famous Tibetan meditation technique.

This meditation in movement with the sword, which is also considered a dance, is ideal for the most agitated minds and times. It helps us to purify our body and mind, to overcome the state of excess of negative thoughts and emotions, to remain in an alert state of mind, connected to the present moment in a calm and peaceful way.

It's really important to learn to stay in the present moment instead of wandering between thoughts of the past and the future. By practicing Tog Chöd, we learn to cut off unwanted thoughts associated with expectations about the future, concepts of truth, and fears about past experiences. Closely related to Yamantaka, Tog Chöd is a combination of postures, vigorous movements, breathing, mantras and visualizations. With this practice we develop the ability to transform unwanted emotions and create an energy of courage and action to create our reality in a more positive way. In particular, Tog Chöd helps us to cut through the idea of a fixed 'I', that we are this or that. The idea of an 'I' creates duality, a separate view of me and the other, a separation that creates insecurity, suffering and makes us feel lost, disconnected and always trying to assert ourselves. With this kind of thinking we waste a lot of energy. We are never able to rest and relax, and eventually we might become mentally and physically ill.

In order to overcome these difficulties, we need methods to help us go beyond conditioned thinking. Tog Chöd is a method to cut our thoughts and cut all confusion. With Tog Chöd we go beyond the past and the future and are finally able to realize the awakened nature of our mind and live a happy life.

O Tog Chöd – Espada da Sabedoria é um poderoso método criado pelo mestre tibetano Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche, que tem suas bases nos ensinamentos secretos da tradição Tantrayana em especial na dança Yaman, uma famosa técnica de meditação tibetana.

Esta meditação em movimento com espada, também considerada uma dança, é ideal para os tempos e mentes mais agitados. Nos ajuda a purificar nosso corpo e mente, a superar o estado de excesso de pensamentos e emoções negativas para permanecer em um estado mente alerta conectada ao momento presente de forma calma e pacífica

É realmente importante aprender a permanecer no momento presente, em vez de vagar entre os pensamentos de passado e futuro. Muito ligado a Yamantaka o Tog Chöd é uma combinação de posturas corporais, com movimentos vigorosos, respiração, mantras e visualizações. Com esta prática desenvolvemos a capacidade de transformar as emoções indesejadas e criar uma energia de coragem e ação para criar nossa realidade de forma mais positiva. Em especial o Tog Chöd nos ajuda a cortar a ideia de um ‘Eu’ sólido, de que somos isto ou aquilo. A ideia de um ‘Eu’ cria a dualidade, uma visão separada de eu e do outro, uma divisão que cria insegurança, sofrimentos e nos faz nos sentir perdidos, desconectados tentando nos reafirmar o tempo todo. Com este tipo de pensamento desperdiçamos muita energia. Nunca conseguimos descansar e relaxar, e por fim adoecemos mental e fisicamente.

Para ir além destas dificuldades precisamos de métodos que nos ajudem a ir além dos pensamentos condicionados. O Tog Chöd é um método para cortar nossos pensamentos e cortar toda a confusão. Com Tog Chöd vamos além do passado e do futuro e finalmente somos capazes de reconhecer a natureza desperta da nossa mente e viver uma existência feliz.
