Über mich
Pleased to meet you! Thank you so much for visiting my brand new profile. I am a certified Lu Jong 1 Teacher and Tibetan Five Elements Practices Teacher since March 2024. A course that I completed far outside my comfort zone, but which I have come to love more and more.
I suspect my own experience with Lu Jong is interesting for other men with an aversion to exercise. I have this love-hate relationship because practicing Lu Jong confronts me with all the tight knots in my body, the aches and pains, the fact that I regularly take poor care of myself, the stress that has settled in my muscles, the fact that my body is getting older… Doing the exercises regularly feels physically unpleasant in the beginning. Just as meditating feels mentally uncomfortable at first because you become painfully aware of the endless turmoil in your mind.
Why I find Lu Jong of great value despite this, is the result of the practice. I always feel much better afterwards. I am mentally clearer, have more energy, feel better about myself and my body feels more flexible. Blockages appear to have disappeared and the flow of energy improves. Yes, Lu Jong can be a little tough but is never exhausting and does not require much effort. In fact, doing the exercises with relaxation is a prerequisite and contributes to an even better result. Moreover, Lu Jong is suitable for every body and does not require great flexibility.
I think my down-to-earth approach, my playful lightness and sharing my own learning path with its own ups and downs are my strengths as your teacher.
I personally also like to delve into the background of Buddhism. In this way I hope to be of some added value to the participants in conversations during or after the lessons and to stay away from the superficial, although I do not pretend to be a Buddhist. Or as the Dalai Lama once said in Ahoy Rotterdam: You are not Buddhists, but you can surely benefit from certain elements of the Teaching.
Finally, I want to focus mainly on classes for men. Not to exclude anyone, but because I think I can best empathize with the experiences of my peers and make Lu Jong more accessible to them. I hope to remove barriers through a playful, simple approach and thus motivate people to remain body-conscious, healthy and energetic into old age. This obviously also applies to myself. Therefore, please feel cordially invited to join me on my path.
