We are all born with the potential for complete inner healing but we do not know how to use this innate healing energy. For true inner healing to occur, we need to cultivate true love. It is love that opens our blockages. And when we are free of blockages, we have a healthy body and a happy mind.

There are three general dimensions of love: gross love which depends upon external factors, subtle love which is generated internally, and absolute love which is free from conditions and always there. It is this absolute love that is the source of all health, the source of all happiness. It is this love that heals all our pain and suffering.

In this workshop, Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche will give us tips on how to open our hearts and reach deeper levels of love in our everyday lives.

Please bring: 1) Meditation cushion 2) Blanket and/or yoga mat 3) Comfortable clothing 4) Pen and paper for notes Khata Offering Ceremony: During this teaching, Rinpoche will offer a short blessing ceremony. Traditionally, you can make a khata (blessing scarf) offering where you approach Rinpoche with a khata folded in half and held in your prayer mudra. Rinpoche will then put the khata over your head as a blessing. If you wish to participate in this ceremony, please bring your own khata. There will also be khatas available on location.

The Heart Sutra is one of the most famous and powerful Buddhist teachings. It describes how to plant the seed for enlightenment through the perfection of wisdom. By learning the Heart Sutra we have the chance to develop deep wisdom about the fundamental nature of ourselves and of reality.

The Heart Sutra is literally called “The Heart of the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom.” It explains how to achieve liberation through meditations by awakening wisdom. The Heart Sutra contains main concepts of Buddhist philosophy. We learn from the Heart Sutra that our conditioned way of thinking – our habits of judging, separating and labeling – prevents us from recognizing the true nature of phenomena as empty of inherent or independent existence. Even our concepts of “birth” and “death” stem from a dualistic and limited perspective.

Once we recognize this through deep meditation it becomes possible to eliminate our suffering and to move beyond all deluded states of mind, thereby achieving the perfection of wisdom, the state of the complete enlightenment.
