One of the most important principles of Buddhism is the deep conviction that boundless love and compassion are our true and deepest nature. When we are in our most natural state - that is, without external influences, but also without being inwardly churned by emotions - so if we have a calm and clear mind, then we do not want to harm anyone, but help others. And that in a very natural way. At that moment we are also happy in a very natural way.
The purpose of Buddhist practice is to discover this our true nature. And for that we need a method, a practice, similar to this nature. For this reason we practice loving kindness and compassion in daily life. In this process it is important to develop these for yourself first. This is often particularly difficult for people in the Western world. But only those who have loving kindness and compassion for themselves can also develop true love and compassion for others.
At this workshop, Tulku Lobsang will introduce us to this wonderful subject. We will learn the meditation of loving kindness and compassion that gradually brings us closer to our true nature of boundless love.
