KATA OFFERING CEREMONY
During this teaching, Rinpoche will offer a short blessing ceremony. Traditionally, you can make a kata (blessing scarf) offering where you approach Rinpoche with a kata folded in half and held in your prayer mudra. Rinpoche will then put the kata over your head as a blessing. If you wish, you can also offer a monetary donation. Put any money offering in an envelope and hand it over during the offering ceremony.
The best gift you can offer to your teacher is your personal inner practice and the ceremony just represents an outer form of offering.
If you wish, you can either bring your own kata or purchase a kata at the retreat. Traditional donation envelopes will be available at the bookstand.

The meditation of bliss is an important Buddhist meditation practice. Bliss is the only way to free ourselves from dependently arising happiness. It's the only way to be free of everything. Through that we can experience the independent, absolute happiness. Peace is bliss. Right now we are only capable to feel happiness on a physical level. This happiness originates in the happiness of the five elements. It is the happiness based on the element earth. This is the feeling of the simple bliss, the feeling of love.
The more bliss we feel, the less we differentiate between "I" and "You". Our feelings of attachment, desire and anger are reduced - therefore even our negative emotions become smaller and smaller. The practice of bliss is the best technique to overcome all our negative emotions.
